Rocket’s Journals

Hello my name is rocket, and I am going with Pastor Joe on his sabbatical. He and I have been preparing for this trip for a few weeks. One of the things that we want to take with us are our journals!

I love journals! I wonder why I love journals so much? Maybe it’s because when I was a small rocket ship, Pastor Joe and I watched the many adventures of Indiana Jones, the great archaeologist and treasure hunter.  Indy would always keep a journal to record clues, riddles, notes, and drawings to help solve mysteries. Ever since then, I always kept a journal of my adventures and discoveries too.

The other thing I love about journals is how they help improve my penmanship and my artwork. I love to write and to draw.

I also keep trinkets and souvenirs, like ticket stubs, postcards, receipts, stickers, and little doodles, in my journals. I can remember all of the places we visited by looking back over these artifacts.

Going on an adventure for 8 weeks with Pastor Joe gives me an opportunity to use my notebooks in all kinds of ways. I have a journal for prayer and worship.  This helps me record the amazing things God is doing with us! I have a journal just for astronomy, in which I write about what we’re learning.  I have a journal for ideas and lists.  (If you need to tackle something difficult, just make a list! Its fun to have bunches of ideas but not fun when you don’t write them down and then forget them!)

As we go on our adventures, we’ll share some of the things that we write in our journals. Maybe you can keep a journal your adventures too.

See you soon! Love, Rocket
