The Memorial Day weekend ended with deadly floods and tornadoes in Central Texas. Located between San Antonio and Austin, the city of Wimberley appears to have taken the brunt of the toil (read this USA Today report). However, many areas, including metro Houston, have received a deluge of rain and subsequent flooding.
CBF Disaster Response is in communication with the coordinators of CBF of Texas and CBF of Oklahoma, as well as our faithful partners through the Disaster Response Network of the North American Baptist Fellowship, specifically Texas Baptist Men and Texas Baptist Disaster Response.
We are offering our assistance as our partners direct. Each of these partners is in the process of ascertaining what areas have been affected, what the immediate and long-term needs are, and what churches are doing and how Cooperative Baptists may come alongside them and help.
