Rocket is Pastor Joe’s friend. Rocket will accompany Pastor Joe on his adventures during his Sabbatical. Rocket hopes to teach children about the adventures he and Joe go on, and share all the things that they learn.

As part of this project, Pastor Joe will be publishing a children’s book through the church — similar to our Stations of the Cross passport — that will introduce our children to Rocket and the meaning of a sabbatical.

Above are the first two illustrations of the children’s book. So far so good, as the first prints are sort of “tests” for colors, shading, and tone of the illustrations. We are excited to bring this book to the First Baptist Church family and beyond at the end of the summer of 2025

The book will address:
The biblical basis for a sabbatical
Several points of interest of the sabbatical
Assurance that the church will be in great care while Pastor Joe is away for 8 – 12 weeks
